I have a futaba 9c radio that I would like to set up an on-board glow system on my plane. I would like it to function using a switch as well as the throttle. I have tried to look thru the manual but still cannot figure out how to program the radio to run the on-board glow system. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

It all depends upon what your on-board glow system consists of.
Are you using a servo to operate a switch in the model? Then you just use an extra channel, set it to operate off a switch on the transmitter, and set the ATV to operate the switch.
If you're using an electronic on-board glow system, how does it work? You'll have to check with the manufacturer to determine how it works first, before you can interface it with the R/C system.
Some on-board glow systems are intended to be installed between the receiver and the throttle servo, and you adjust them so that they come on when the throttle is reduced below a certain point.
Please check with the maker of the on-board glow system to see how it should be operated. You may be surprised that little or no programming of the transmitter is required.

The on-board digital glow driver is from Expert Electronics. The glow driver is connected to an unused channel. It tells me to "mix" the throttle channel to the auxiliary glow driver channel. It says that then the glow driver can then be controlled through the throttle channel.
I have looked thru the radio's instruction manual bu this even confuses me evenmore.

Go to this link. Futaba have an FAQ page where most of the questions such as these are answered.

It is not as difficult as it sounds.
All you really have to decide is at what point on your throttle control you want the onboard glow to activate.
