It depends on your personal engine preference. All that is really needed is an 80 class engine. I have a ZDZ80 in my 33% Pilot yak and that is all that is truely needed at lower elevations, verticals are only limited by your eyeballs. At the other end of the scale folks have put 100's in search of more or smoother power. Drawback is higher wing loading and more cowl trimming.

I like the ZDZ 80 and MVVS 80. These are probably the smoothest running singles in this range. (You still can't beat a twin) The DA 85 is powerful, but shakes a lot, and you would need to re-enforce the airframe, especially around the firewall. This is probably a good idea with any 80 cc single. I know a couple of guys with the H9 33% Sukhoi with DA 85's upfront, and they have shaken the airframe to pieces. The MVVS has 4 crank bearings to tame the power.

If you can find a old 3w twin, buy it. its a screamer. I dont think the DA 100 or the DLE 111 will fit with out hacking the sides out of the cowl. i understand the ZDZ 80 twin was a good runner also

BME 116. 10.5 inches from cap to cap for the width. Narrower than most small twins. Would be a screamer.
