For the benefit of others reading this you need to go into detail about exactly what was bad about your ignition?
Elaborate a little - what did you experience?
No signal from the sensor - was it the magnet or the sensor?
Timing off position?
Ignition unit itself is dead but sensor is good?
Spark plug bad?
Spark boot not correct ot bad?

go into detail!!!!. No spark dude. Checked battery, switch, no cigar. Colored rigged a back up and presto changeo, spark. the other that went south were bought from valley view. before I sent it in I made a small ID mark with an awl. Sent it in and was informed from Jodi that there was nothing wrong with it. He sent it back, guess what, no mark. The last one was from Tower. It will go back Monday. My question still stands. Are other people experincing problems with the ignition that comes with the DLE engines.

For the OP I haven't heard of problems like that, sounds like you may of had some bad luck. I have owned 12 DL/DLE engines and have yet to have one with a bad ignition. Not that it cannot happen, but I have not seen or heard of it being a problem.

Check both connecters, make sure none of the connecting prongs are bent, Have seen this more than one time.
To check the ignition plug a battery direct into the ignition and take a small wire and touch the two outside leads on the connecter that goes to the sensor, Every time you touch and then take off the ignition should fire one time.

Not much there in the way of troubleshooting description. He could have a simple air gap condition, the displaced connector pin could be an easy culprit, intermittant switch. Doesn't mention prescence or lack of spark with initializing.

To avoid permanent damage to the electronic ignition system, NEVER
turn your DLE engine over with the system switched on and the plug
not installed.

Two out of four does seem to point in a particular direction. I would look very hard at my component choices and installation practices before sending any more of them back for inspection.
As for Jody sending you a different ignition, I can easily understand why he moght do that. Even finding your original to be perfect he might send you another new unit to assist your peace of mind. You were unhappy with the last so he gave you a new one. What could make more sense than that? Sounds like a good business practice to me.

You might check your boot cap.
I believe in the other thread Jody gave a real good Ign trouble shooting procedure.
Could be a tear in the boot or maybe leaving the spring out of the cap an run it thus killing the Ing module
DLE warns not to use Ing with out a sparkplug.

RE: ****, 4th DLE 30 purchased, 2nd bad ignition
All I was asking if anyone has had problems with the stock ignition that comes with the DLE engine. I have 8 DLE engines, and having been in giant scale for 30 years, pretty much been there done that. I dont usually complain about products that I buy. I understand once and a while a bad lot comes through. Look what we went through with the side carb 30's. I will send this back to tower, and wait till I get a response.

If indeed it is the cap that is this ignitions weak point...a new cap should be designed right away. I for one would pay for a Real good built cap with better insides...like a bigger improved boot. RCEXL please consider that....it may eliminate a lot of problems. Thanks, Capt,n

To do that costs money in R&D, and later in increased production costs. If that was not the case a better cap design would already be on the market.
Never mind, the better cap design was removed from the market a couple years ago to accomodate this cheaper version.

The ignition module I replaced runs at least 3 times a week on the test stand with various engine brands and sizes, never misses a beat.
