Hey guys I have a Converted G-38 that because of the way that I ran the spark plug wire inbetween the pitts muffler pipes it melted through the outer rubber covering and the metal braided wire that was just underneath was touching the muffler. Well this was causing radio issues on a preflight check so at the field I moved the plug wire to the side where it would not touch anything. I did not cover up the melted spot and flew it again. well on this flight it had "hits" where it would jump up or down. Needless to say I put her down as quick as I could. My question is could the worn spot in the plug wire covering be causing that interference? And if so what is the best way to "repair" the covering?
