I will be ordering a set of these. I need an odd dimension and do not trust myself to make them myself. Sometimes you just do not want to mess around you know? I like the spacers for adjustment.

Your cheapest bet is Home Cheapo (depot) right in your own backyard. They have a good selection of sizes.

I found 2" spacers with washers and bolts. The last one on the page.

RE: Engine Standoff Suppliers
I had considered using wood dowels for the standoffs, but was concerned about them compressing too much and loosening the bolts. Apparently that isn't an issue so I will go that way. I've used dowels before to make short spacers but usually under 3/4" long.
Thanks,
Chuck

If I was you I think wood stand-offs like T.O.M. talked about will be a fast easy way to make them....and I think wood will also absorb some vibes...instead of transmitting the vibes into airframe like metal will do.

RE: Engine Standoff Suppliers
If using the hardwood dowels, you will get compression of the firewall long before you get any compression of the dowel. Because the 1" dowel is typically larger in circumference than the typical metal standoff, you'll have more problems with the metal standoff in this regard.

Scroll down to page 3. I made a set of these and they work just fine. Easy to make with the mitre box method.

Wood works great, but if you still want metal standoffs then the cheapest is at Hobbyking.com
Only thing is they only sell 2 sizes, 20mm and 30mm lengths.
Another option is to kiss up to club member that has metal lathe that can make custom standoffs of exact size you need.
If not, then Home Depot dowels work well too and easier to work with.

Here are some "custom" standoffs I used for my first Pepsi Chipmunk.
Cheap, easy and lasts forever! Best of all, supplied to exact length for the application
