Best side dump muffler for a 20cc engine

After having played around with a few after market side dump mufflers on my little G20 engine, I am of the opinion that most do not have enough volume to allow for very effective exhausting of the engine. In your opinion, which of the currently available S/D mufflers does the best job regarding increasing engine performance.

I'm not sure that I agree with the notion that the stock muffler is the "best" at "effective exhausting" for this motor.
Bisson makes a wrap around pitts, but you asked for a side dump.
Slimline doesn't even list a muffler.
So maybe the stock muffler is the "only" muffler available right now. But does that really make it the "best"? [sm=spinnyeyes.gif]
Side dumps aren't really going to do much for performance anyway. They are just a diverter to keep the exhaust off the plane. If you want performance out of a side dump, it would have to be pretty darn big and have some mighty special baffles inside.

I have tried the stock muffler, and side dumps from Abell, Bennett's, SPE and even tried a Mac's header pipe with a mousse can muffler which gives a real performance boost but is extremely noisy. So far the Bisson side dump for the G23/G26 with 16 cu. ins of volume versus between 5-8 cu. ins for the rest, and which has the same mounting dimensions as the G20 seems like it could be a very good choice. Has anyone had any experience using this muffler??

I just got a ring from Frank which I plan on trying, mostly out of curiosity just to see what if any increase it will give. Have used his rings before in glow engines and the increase in compression was quite noticeable.

I have the Bennett header pipe on my G20....the one thats angled back about 15* (single pipe). I like it because it is very, very small, very light and although it is loud, it is a deff. increase in power over the stock black can (stocker).
If I ever put it on a plane that will allow, I will be putting a Macs header on and building my own mousse can pipe for it!!!

I used a Mac's header pipe for the G23/G26 to make a mousse can muffler arrangement for my G20, and though it was quite noisy the max. revs increased by 900 rpm.
