Iwill be installing my first gas engine into a TF P-47 GE, the engine is a DLE20 and the igntion module will be mounted to the firewall inside the canopy directly above the engine. Iunderstand that there may be interference with the radio equipment if its not installed 12" away from the ignition, however Iwould prefer to install the radion equipment in the locationnoted in the instrutions due to getting the CGwhen done. How do you isolate the interference from the ignition without moving equipment? Thanks for all the help.

I just fired up my DLE 30 for the first time tonight with the ignition mounted next to the engine, and I did not see any interference with my 2.4 radio gear. I have not done a full range check with the engine running yet but, so far so good. Fire it up and see how it runs. It's better to have the ignition up front rather than dead lead weight.

The balancing isnt my concern I will move equipment as needed to achieve this, I will move things to the rear if need to achieve balance.. I just don't want to move things to the rear to avoid ignition interference. I'm trying to find techniques to reduce the interference without moving things.

Put all of the ignition system as far forward as you can and all of the radio to the rear. 12 inches of separation is desirable but as much as possible will have to be sufficient in some installations. The only way to achieve the isolation is with distance. There are no magic shields or filters. If you do it right you will have a stable secure link to your radio. If not, you will need a lot of luck. By the way, use the same guide lines for a 2.4Gig radio. Dan.
