It looks to be a glow conversion. Does the conrod have needle bearings on both ends? Is the cylinder chromed? Single or dual rings? Whose ignition system is provided with the engine? Muffler supplied? Thanks.

Sincerely, Richard

Sorry but no needle bearings on the rod, plain bearings just like the J15G. Also, like the J15G, it's not a glow conversion, it's designed from the ground up for gasoline.

I don't see how they can run that lean on oil with no needle bearings?

Nice
Weighs about the same as my JBA 15 with a little bit more power.

Hey Jody, will you folks be carrying these engines when they are released for distribution?

But consider the GT17 to be basically an improved version of your JBA-15g, at a higher price.
Too bad it's not priced around $20.00 less, then it's own market niche would be set.

With a DLE20cc having the better roller bearings, and both priced the same, go for the DLE20cc instead!

Now the GT25 looks to have potential, dependent upon the bearing difference.

I was wondering when you'd get over here. I guess you're busy working that contest entry

The prices I was quoted were much cheaper than that.

If you are serious about purchasing a 17 or 25, you should personally contact Agape. They are not making any commitments until the shipment comes in.

I always thought that ball bearings were preferred for the crank bearings as they can absorb axial thrust better than roller bearings?

What he was talking about was that the DLE-20 has a needle bearing rod and the 17 has a bushing

Ok, I heard roller bearings and thought crank, needle bearings to me says rod. Roller bearings are caged with an inner and outer race; needle bearings are caged outside but ride on the crank pin or wrist pin on the inside?

Guys, that GT25 looks good, but does anyone know what do ya strap it on?
Wouldn't it be to much for a 60-90 and not enough for a 90-1.20?

It will work on all the classic small gassers like we used to put G23 Zenoahs and weed whacker engines on.

OK, I see from your Timken reference that some neeedle bearings have no outer shell as well as no inner shell. It does not change the fact that needle bearings ride directly on the crank pin or wrist pin. Or are you suggesting something else?

Richard,

You had earlier mentioned needle & roller bearings in a fashion to indicate they're different.
Just two names for the same thing, as you seen at the Timken link I gave.

In most of our glow/gas engines we'll have ball bearing style in the case housings to support the crank,
then roller -and/or- brass bushings for the rod.

I prefer roller over brass bushings.
YMMV.

I differ with you as does Timken. Roller bearings have metal casings on both inside and outside and the rollers do not run on the shaft surfaces. They are pressed into the component housings just like ball bearings.

Needle bearings have at least the inner needles unenclosed and those run on the shaft directly.

Regards, Richard

Why a question mark? Are you asking us? No offense intended.
