RE: SV TROY BUILT 17 CC GAS ENGINE
i checked the 17 cc engines at agape racing, they are gt engines and sell for 239.00. they are about as powerfull as you can get for a small gas eng. they can fly a 60- 90 size airplane. there made just like a nitro motor, carb in the front, beam mount.........pretty cool......RON

The 17cc gas engine at Agape Racing and Hobby is a viable gas engine and is far and above in performance compared with the SV 17cc gas engine from Hobby King.

You will also notice the price difference
With Agape Racing and Hobby. you also get service after the sale of any problems you may have.

RE: SV TROY BUILT 17 CC GAS ENGINE
yes there is a 100.00 price diff, but worth it IMHO. i would buy one for my lucky 13 , 50 wingspan 60-90 size plane ,about 6 -7 lbs. which i fly now with a saito 4 stroke 100. it has decent performance now, hoping it would be pretty much the same with the gas 17. that remains to be seen however. i like it because it is made the same configurtion as my four stroke. no carb in the back or radial mount.........RON

Hello all
I’m picking up a 40 size ultimate and would like to put a gas engine in it any suggestions or is it to small for gas?

sv17 engine I bought runs.the only problem is it has NO POWER. 17 strand of rubber bands will out perform it.I would have been better of buying a Cox .049.

Blake,
I think your right in your thinking. I have the plane and the flying weight is under 5lbs so I will go with a small 4 stroke may be an OS 70. Hopefully one day we will have a gas engine light enough for a 40 size plane.

Comming soon. [8D]
I've seen a video of a 9 cc (with a small .55 case) gas engine @ 12.800 rpm on gas fuel......
