Needle Extenders for Walbro Carb?
Do any of you know a slick way to extend the needles on a DA-50 Walbro Carb?
Thanks

RE: Needle Extenders for Walbro Carb?
I take a piece of tubing ( nyrod or whatever ) the same size as the tuning screw heads. I put some heat shrink on the tubing and over the tuning screw head. I put a hole in the cowl allowing a small screwdriver to be slipped into the tubing so I can then tune the engine without removing the cowl. I sometimes spruce up the cowl with a rubber grommet.

Yep, just solder some brass tubing onto the needle valve. I do this on all my engines. You can either flatten the end of the tubing, or drill a hole in it and insert a piece of music wire going sideways. I do this on some of my cowled engines. Then I made a special long screwdriver with a slotted piece of tubing soldered onto it. It slips over the tubing on the needle valves, and engages the music wire. Then I have a "no slip" setup to adjust the carb through the cowling.
