Before you say anything, I realize a D&B 5.1 is a lot of engine for a 77" 20lb +or- solution X. I am going to do this anyway, because I didn't want to purchase a 3.7 which is the proper engine, I wanted the bigger engine, and I already have the airplane. I had a Brison 4.2 with a Mejlik 24x10 in it originally, but it acted like a jack hammer and something fatigued after every two or three flights. After balancing prop and spinner and soft mounting everthing on the airframe, including the tail struts, stuff was still breaking. In my opinion? it wasn't the vibration, but the harmonics that was fatiguing the airframe. I decided to break up this combination, even though the performance was outstanding. Here is my question, is there anyone out there flying this combination? (Solution X and D&B 5.1)and what would be a good prop to tame this beasty 5.1? I've seen many of D&B 5.1's, and they are extremely powerful. Any info would be appreciated. BTW I would trade airframe for airframe my Soution X for a carden or H9 CAP 232 willing to work out any details.
