Default can I switch oil from synthetic to penzoil?

Just bought a relatively new DLE 111 and after break-in, the owner was running redline racing oil @ 50:1. I have been checking to find some in my area and so far, no luck. I can only get it through mail order. I have always used penzoil air-cooled @ 40:1 after break-in on all of my gas engines, but looking at how clean this DLE is after running redline, I think I may have been missing the boat on the synthetic oil.

Not gonna start an oil war here, that has already been done way too much, my only question is: while I wait for the redline to arrive, can I run a few tanks of penzoil air-cooled through it and then back to redline without any harmful effects?

Thanks to all of the experienced guys out there who help the ones of us that don't have as much knowledge about gas engines.

There's no reason you cannot use your penzoil 40:1

Just remember to retune your carb for the new oil and different ratio, also using Red Line at 40:1 instead of a 50:1 ratio gives a much greater margin of protection especially if your engine ever has an unintentional lean run.

Change anytime you want, no problems. Takes about an hour for the last mix to fully flush from an engine but that's never an issue. As noted, you will probably need to re-tune. FYI, Redline can be ordered factory direct should you desire to continue it's use. I've been using it for about 10 years at 50-1 in 50cc and up engines. That includes my 111

Taht is if you engine call for 40-1. Some engines are 30-1.....like the DLE 30 and others. Capt,n

Look in your area for Sthil HP Ultra. It's a great oil for our engines.
