Question for the Walbro/Zenoah Experts
I have used the WT-338 carb from my Zenoah 38 for a bit of experimentation on another engine and need to purchase a new one for the Zenoah. I could purchase another WT-338. But there is also the WT805 as used on the MLD35 and there are some WT 542's for sale on the well known auction site at relatively low prices. These are all 13.5mm venturi twin needle carbs.
So my dilemma is about which of these to buy as apart from general dimensions, throat and venturi size etc. I don't know enough about Walbro carbs to be able to tell from the part numbers whether they will have similar running characteristics due to jet sizes, metering spring and so on.
Thanks in advance.

Funny, this thread came along when I was about to experiment with a carb from a DLE 30 on my G38.
The WT-338 seems to be such a pain in the butt to tune so I figured I'd try one from a DLE 30.

Pe and Ralph,
Thank you for your really helpful responses and your wilingness to share the depth of information/experience. Fully support Captinjohn's comments. Much appreciated.
For anyone following this tread, according to another thread the WT 542 has an accelerator pump.
