Default G-26

The problem is the engine dies at mid range. It will idle and run full speed but dies when coming from idle to mid. It will speed up from idle to mid but then speeds up on it's own then dies. There is a new filter in the gas line and internal filter has been removed.
This is a mag engine.
Any ideas.

Just out of curiousity, what was the reasoning behind removing the internal carb screen.

On some carbs, setting midrange (~25% throttle opening) is the only way to adjust the L-needle to it's leanest point. Set the L-needle such, that the engine runs at best rpm in this range, without cutting out if maintained for about two or three minutes running. Quiet throttle application after that should be accepted well. (not horsing). This is the leanest allowable L needle setting.

Thanks for the input guys I'll try tomorrow to see what happens. As for the screen, I put a filter in the fuel line didn't think I needed two filters. It is a lot easier to clean the inline filter than the one in the carb.

With the inline filter, it is unlikely for there to be much dirt accumulation in the internal filter therefore there would be less need to open the carb to check it.

Plus some inline filters are not fine enough to trap all the crap going to the carb.
