Greetings all from a Newbie to the forum.
Can't get the Zenoah G380PU on my Skywalker to start. This after sitting for a couple seasons due to other commitments. Before that, engine started easily.
Engine readily starts with a squirt of starter fluid but quits immediately.
Checked the forum for help to make sure I was starting correctly and to pickup any advice tips but no joy yet.
The key seems to be no fuel being delivered by the Webro carb. I have cleaned, disassemble/assembled the carb several times including compressed air and probes to make sure all channels are clean but I still cannot get the carb to "suck" fuel into the engine. Gaskets are in tact, vacuum diaphram looks OK and appears to be operating the intake plunger valve.
( WOT, thumb over venturi, low speed jet at 1.75 turns, high speed at 1.5 turns, rotate the prop several times but no wet finger)
So I am thinking whatever it is that is not allowing fuel to be sucked into the carb is my problem.
Thanks for any suggestions or pointers on what I may have missed.
Don

I would replace the gaskets anyway. Since you took it apart, are you sure the carb gasket was installed correctly (crankcase vent hole lined up), diaphram gasket installed the right direction, flapper gaskets not too loose or floppy, screen filter not clogged. Sometimes opening up the carb sides and flushing it with some fuel, then putting the sides back on is needed to sort of prime the pump. I've never had to do that but others on here said it worked for them. I usually start with removing the plug and spinning the prop with a starter to see if I get any or how much fuel movement. I've been bit more times than I like to admit to having the carb gasket missaligned just enough to restrict the pump action from the crackcase.

antique, would it help to use some hi temp sealer on the threads too that go in crankcase? Just wondering for future assembly of various engines. Thanks Capt,n
