I am looking for an engine for the Goldwing MX2 30CC. I can either but a MT35 locally or obtain a DLE30 from abroad. The MT35 is cheaper by $70 or so and is almost the same weight. Would you guys suggest to get the MT35 or the DLE30?

DLE 30 from a much better company.

MT 35 is no longer manufactured and you would be hard pressed to find parts when needed. The maufacture has seroius QC issues and would not fix them. He lost all his dealers because of it. Too bad as it had more power. The MT70 suffered the same fate.

I would suggest an SE-32. You will get a great engine at a very competitive price, and our service -if you needed it- is second to none!

The MLD is a strong engine also and seems to be holding up good other than it has some ignitions problems, If you can get it cheap enough just buy a RXexl for it.

Do not know about the difference in weight.
