Give it a go. The smaller gassers may not be as destructive as the larger, but remember a 4 stroke only fires once in four rotations instead of every other rotation. There is a substantial difference in the vibration impulse.

That's why I only cut the tail off and do not remove the spring.
I'll let you know how it goes - my engine is only 15cc and I otherwise have a big bulk of servos to fit. On my 50cc Yak strong servos are a must - large control surfaces, wild manouvres and lots of vibration. Note that I wouldn't bother fitting a mini servo to a throttle on a 26 or 50cc plane as it makes no difference in weight. With the new small engines and in a small multi-function airframe (warbird):- I think it is worth it.
I'll be posting back on here if I'm wrong and the servo on the throttle fails - no point posting anything other than the truth.

The second is a bit more subtle. It maintains the centering of the throttle plate and absorbs much of the vibration load that courses through a carb, letting the throttle mechanism and carb venturi remain functional to a ripe old age.

I have 75 flights on my DLE55 powered Reactor with that setup and a 225MG. Have to also agree about the 225's failing and/or not centering anymore. I have started to switch my mini servos over to the Spektrum A5040 mini digital. Same size/weight, MG, and $28!

The couple that I have been around weren't that bad at all. Then again, the guy that owned them had a very strong grasp of engines and their capabilities. He raced, from glow to unlimited gas. His fun fly engines all ran just fine with no hint of vibration issues, except one. That was an 85cc gasser whose brand name will remain obscured.

Hi airraptor, sounds like your HS 65 is robust indeed. I haven't use that one, only others from the 80.... series. Did you fly at all while in the NW???

I just noticed the op mentioned hs65, that IS a bit tiny. I'm thinking of a mini, not a feather.
Thanks for the discussion, I,ll let you know if it works!

Just kidding, it's cleaner than my bench. That plane / engine combo looks super. That bomb-drop container almost looks like a transmitter case.
