Where is the mulffer! every where i read the new engines comes with a somewhat pitt mulffer, mine came with a black one. Which one comes with them. Tower Hobbies saids the new one is silver but shows the black one in the parts list. U.S. engines web site must be way out of date. Give me the low down on them.

The stock muffler on the US Engines 35 cc and 41 cc engines is a two-piece, black unit. It has two exhaust stacks that point away from the crankcase, or downwards when the cylinder is oriented downwards.

The picture on the US Engines web site is not of a silver-colored muffler. The lighting of the shot only makes it appear that way.

From your descriptions, you received the correct muffler with your engine.

I also just ordered my second US41 from Tower last week while they were still priced at 207.99. When I received it, I too was surprised by the box which had been opened and re-taped, and the old two-piece black aluminum muffler. The first US41 that I bought from Tower about 6 months ago came with a beautiful cast aluminum one-piece pitts style cannister muffler (there's a picture of one on chiefaircraft.com's site). Why the step backwards on the engines? I thought the newer version of the engine used the cast muffler?

The tower site says cast and the black no longer avaible. Cheif aircraft says cast and their boxs are all opened and resealed with tape. where the muffler?

All current advertising for the U.S. Engines 35cc and 41cc engines show the black two-piece muffler. Double-check the tech notes on the Tower site. No mention is made of the cast muffler, and the picture of the muffler, alone, is of the two-piece, black muffler.

The cast one was available for a while, but the manufacturer changed the muffler.

Please understand, we are not US Engines, but their service center, and are providing support for them.

Engine boxes may be opened after leaving the factory to check for completeness of parts and instructions. Some vendors may open them to insert sales materials and invoices. We have no control over that, nor no control over what independent retailers may put in their advertising.

The latest information is on the US Engines Web site, that you can get to from the one we list below.

We'll notify Tower to update the tech notes on the muffler. The manufacturer made changes without notice.
