Well I got a call from Jim Bisson yesterday, he said it was a bad weld job and said he was sorry. He said they didn't have any in stock so he'd build me a new one this week. I got a call today and they had built my muffler and it had been shipped by courier first class. I have to say I'm very impressed with their timelyness and customer service. I was a little bummed it took nine days to get to Canada but other than that I'm pleased with everything. The only downfall is I have to recut the stacks and grind em out again... that was alot of work! lol

On the plus side I got out and flew my Cap 232 last week (Burned a gallon of nitro in a Saito .72 in one day!) I've hated that plane since it's maiden flight. But I have to say I had a great time! Funny part was I didn't care if I balled it up so I was doing all types of wild stuff. By the end of the day and the bottom of the fuel bottle, I have to say I really love the plane, I had a great time!

I just had this happen a week ago with the same muffler. Mine came apart where the header bolts to the engine. It fell off in flight and I had a tail heavy bird to land. I have the pieces, I have tried to contact them twice. I purchased it from National Hobby (now out of business) at a good price. I have had it for a while but put it in my plane and it failed after 3 months and 100 flights!.

We are doing performance evaluations on our new ZDZNG 50 -using the Bisson Pitts (same one fits on the DA50.)
So far so good - power level is extremely good
As far as we can see, as good as any 50 size motor now .
The muffler is staying on with no lock tite - and so far no loosening -
so fa so good --

It's best to contact them early in the morning, they answer then. I'm still waiting on mine to deliver, Jim said I'd be flying by Saturday... Hmmm it's Wednesday...

I sure hope you didn't loose your plane because of the extreme tail weight. Best of luck to you in your claim with them.
