Default prop sizes

I just started flying again after a 5 yr break i have dug out my old godfrey 32.5 % 300 l or s extra and am going to set it up i have a 35% cap as well i will be using a 3w 100 motor i don,t remember what prop sizes to get i would like to use a plastic prop or what ever else they make now,but not a wood prop seeing i will propably be having some rough landings thaks [email protected]prop sizes

Slam,

For a 3W 100 a 26x10 or 27x10 would be a good starting place. I'm not aware of any "plastic" props in this size. Mejzlik makes a good carbon fiber composit prop as do others. If you plan on rough landings, which will break the prop, I'm not sure your plane or engine will last long enough to matter what type of prop. This is a totally different ball game than a 40 size small plane with a nylon prop that you can turn over on landing, pick it up and restart it. Even an expensive carbon fiber prop can be destroyed by a tip over. My suggestion is to stay with the less expensive wooden props (Zinger, Bambula, Fox) until you stop having rough landings.

You must develop a different mind set to be successful in giant scale. We've all had to.
