Im looking into getting the Hangar-9 blue nose P-51 60 size. I currently running a dle 55 in my extra and it runs fantastic, so much power and pull. I want to use a dle 20 in the p-51. I like the looks of the plane and what it has. But i would like to keep it scale and true to looks. I would like to run a 4 blade prop on it and fly with it. My question is can the dle 20 spin up a 4 blade with enough thrust. Or should i go with a 4 stroke gas to spin a 4 blade prop. ??

The DLE20 has tons of thrust, but your bigger problem might be in finding a 4-bladed prop.
You might consider flying with a 3-bladed prop, and for display use a 4-bladed prop, just for show.
Possibly the best overall for static thrust (just to compare basics) is the 2 bladed....
Vess 17x6 14lb. 8oz. - Great throttle response and crappy tach showed 8549RPM
Very few have given any figures on 3 -or- 4 bladed props for the DLE20, but here's one.....
MA K-series 15x6 3-blade 13.0lbs @ 9100 rpm
Take a peek here for other prop data in Post #1....

one of the guys at my field have that plane with the DLE 30 instead of the 20. You can then run a 4 blade prop from troy built models

this one is the 17.3x8 four blade P-51 prop and they also have a 16x8 prop also in the same scale look. I am not sure which one to run on the either DLE but i would think the 20cc could pull the 16x8 but not super strong but would look great.

yea i saw that data before i posted. And seemed to be good. but i noticed in the blue nose threads that people are flying with a 4 blade prop and like it. But Id like to go with the dle vs the saito 4 stroke gas because i know what dle's do. I want to make sure that the dle has enough tq to swing the 4 blade.

i under stand that. But im looking to see if the dle 20 can swing a 4 blade prop around 16 or 17x5 or 6 or what 4 blade would be good for the engine
