DLE-50 Engine

I was told by someone that they did?
But lets wait around on here for a little bit and see who chimes in?
The usual problems with the DL-50 was the crankcase. The bearing pockets would wobble out of speck and the mounting ears would break off.
There was a on going change in the port design with the DLE-55. I don't know if this affected the crankcase or not?
Usually the piston/cylinder itself doesn't give much trouble on the DLE engines.
Is your piston galled with aluminum smeared across the ring and aluminum transferred to the cylinder wall on the exhaust side?
If this is so, you can remove the aluminum streaks from the cylinder with muriatic acid on a Q-tip and use a new piston/ring. But the problem still remains of getting a piston?

Why not call Tom at Valley View R/C and ask him what old DL parts he might have on hand and if perhaps the DLE 55 P&C would work on it? Valley View R/C was a DL dealer long before DL changed to DLE. http://www.valleyviewrc.com/estore/
Tower will not have any true DL parts for Tower came along after DL changed over to the DLE 55.
