Question
I recently received a new gas engine and noticed that there is no cylinder sleeve. Do most gas engines have a sleeve or do they just have a one piece aluminum cylinder? I am curious because this is my first gasoline engine and being a cheap chinese one I don't know if an aluminum cylinder is strong enough.

RE: Question
The inside of the cylinder is plated to give it a more wear resistant surface. Some China made piston rings are too hard, causing a longer break-in. It may be a good Idea to install a Frank Bowman piston ring. They break in fast and do not wear the cyl. Also they give good compression...and better running. Capt,n
