Default smaller canister muff than recomended

if you went with a cannister muff thats rated for a 30 to 65cc on a 70cc would that be a problem ?
the diff in lenght is 3 inches and diameter about 9/16

It would still be bigger than the standard mufflers that are on the side of the engine wouldn't it?

Power will be a bit lower.

On topic, isn't that a pretty big size range for a can? I would think it either too much expansion for a small engine, or not enough for one on the bigger end.

Yes, the range probably is stretched a bit already.

@ Rich,
Side dump mufflers typically have no damping section. They just collect the exhaust gasses and spill them in free air. A small collector with large diameter stinger pipes will work just as well as a large collector with a small diameter stinger pipe, at the cost of extremely noisy operation.
