Hello,
I have broken a few cooling fins on my DLE 30 Head (landing gear broken off and...'[>:]',). Replacing it means replacing the cylinder. The engine is barely broken-in, is it safe not to replace the piston too?
Please state your experiences in this case, if any...otherwise I shall let you all know how this situation evolves.

if you have another 15 or bucks to spare, you can get a new piston and ring for about 15 dollars, if not then just get a new ring http://www3.towerhobbies.com/cgi-bin...e+30&search=Go

On a near new engine it would have hurt my pride more than the engine, I can see wanting to replace the cylinder on a pretty, new airplane
. No need for a new piston, just the ring. There is good advise from Aviator if it isn't too hard to get one to Italy.

A few broken fins, if that's all that's broken, never hurt anything. Just use it like it is

I have heard a lot about those Bowman ring's. Would like to give them a try. Googled him and can't find a link. Anyone willing to offer up how I can get with him?
