I looked at the TBM website just this morning. It looked like they are offering PRE-orders right now. To me this means the engine is not on American soil yet. The price I saw was 350 for the 35RA and 420 (I think) for the 55RA. I couldn't find any specs for either one. Anybody have a link to specs?

If the 35RA hauls the mail the way the OS33 hauls it, it will be special indeed!!

They have already jacked the prices up. The other day when I looked the prices were like Airaptor said, DLE 35 $298.00 and the DLE 55 was $355.00. If these were not the entended prices they should not have posted them.

Thank you....The bore to stroke ratio kinda leaves me cold as does compression ratio. Been down this road with the Mintor 38....... I am going to wait and see on this one

Looks to me like they kept the 30's bottom and created a new, bored out top. It is more likely a revver on smaller props, depending on their porting.

For now, I'm sticking with the OS33GT. The only desirable feature the new DLE has is the rear exhaust

It doesnt always mean its a rever when the bore is larger than the stroke. Also some long stroke engines are revers. Its the whole combo. either way if it has 500-700 more than the DLE 30 then it will be a good engine.

Oh to have a rear exhaust DLE20 right now.   I need to find a wrap around Pitts for the 4*120. It is was a rear exhaust, I could mount and run the engine with the  stock muffler.

I think you should clarify that you are looking for an engine that has a more linear throttle response to allow for more propeller speed control during precision flying.
The trend to get more power from two stroke is more and more undersquare geometry. You prefer a more torquey engine.

What the OS 33 may havbe on other engine is better breathing i.e. bore stroke relationship to inlet and exhaust durations.

Not everyone is looking for that. Most probably don't know the benefit of it.

Geezz, demand for rear exhaust 20 HAS to equal that of the 30's, no? They have to recognize that. I'm hoping they do anyway....

What that would do for weight (no more wrap arounds), as well as the ability to stuff these things into smaller cowls without hacking the daylights out of them? If people think the 20 class is growing quickly now, just make that rear exhaust configuration available and see what happens....

Or a beam mounted rear exhaust 15?

OK, done dreaming....

Or a 10CC for the smaller planes.  The one thing I had a problem with was finding a plane other than a warbird that could handle the 20CC, either they top out at .91 FS or start at 26cc.  The plane it does fit, the Ultra, or 4*60 or 120 are no longer available, there is only one that is still out there, and it is one ugly plane, the big stink.  That one doesnt have cowl cheeks so the muffler doesnt matter, but the 4* has cheeks and the engine with stock muffle doesnt fit.

I just talked to Tom at VVRC and he will have the first shipment of 35's and 55's in less than a week.(He got the tracking number) I'm first on the list for the 35RA! It's going into a KMP Bearcat. Just got the Sierra gear installed the other day. I can't wait to fly this thing again with some REAL power.

I just installed a DLE 60 twin in a Bridi Bizzee Bee (engine fits inside the cowl). The instructions that came with the engine say that the engine must be broken in mounted with some damping system to avoid damage. I plant to break in the engine while mounted in the plane unless some one can verify that a damping system is required for break-in.
