Default Q35 problems

OK all you gasser Experts I'm at my witts end with this Quadra 35 I got from a club member. I completely rebuild it new rings bearing seals carb kit honed cylinder of course. it starts just great and the midrange up to about 4700-4900 no problems will run all day but when I give it full throttle it just starts slobbering and won't rev up. I've tried three different carbs same results. I've played with the point gap no changes so set them back to specs 15 thousands. I thought it might be compression but it seems to have good compression. and if I bring it up on compression stroke it hold it faily well. I'm open to any suggestions. thanks in advance.

Default Q35

Take the cover off(the one with 4 screws) and be sure the inlet needle lever is not sticking up too far--it should be flush with the casting right next to it..Also the gasket goes on first, then the diaphragm...If it still runs rich, try closing the high needle completely, then lean out the low needle..They should both be open smoewhere around 1 and 1/2 turns from closed..There is no exact setting, so experiment....

Hey RCIGN

Well I tried what you said and the needle was really close to casting just a little high so i closed it up. couldn't even get it to run, so I opened it back to where it was. Runs a little better. I was Just thinking fishing season open in a couple of weeks and I could use a new anchor.Ha.
