Hey Everyone,
Anyone looking for a NIB Evo 10CC Gasser, Check my RCU ad, I have one new for sale, Not going to use it. Selling for way less than new. Check it out or pass it along if you know someone in the market for it.
Thanks

I did get a telemetry tach installed and promised an unloaded flight number. With the APC 14x4 funfly prop, I'm showing slightly better than 9k static and slightly more than 10k in the air on the flats.
One issue I've not seen commented on and don't know yet what to think. I've now sixteen flights and have noted that the HS needle has needed backed out almost incrementally a click or two each outing for the last several. I've never owned an ABC engine and don't know if that is typical of break in. Along with that change is the great reduction in the black goo that has been noted. There has been no performance decrease. The engine is now easy enough to hand start that I'm no longer using a starter.

Has anyone figured out how many pounds of thrust this little gasser is pulling?

10 x 6 @ 13,900 = 5.8 lbs
11 x 6 @ 11,800 = 5.9 lbs
12 x 6 @ 10,500 = 6.2 lbs
13 x 6 @ 9,800 = 7.2 lbs
13 x 8 @ 8,500 = 6.4 lbs

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine
well guys finally bit the bullet and ordred two of these for my black horse aero cammnder strike.should be here in a week or two. I still need to find a inverted pitts muffler that will work with these engines, so ifanyone has used a pitts muffler please let me knowthe results. also going by the reveiews on this engine its a little messy while breaking in.would it be worth me using a cheap plane to break these engines in on instead of using the aerocommader

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine
I'd say yes, it would be worth the effort to break them in on a single engine plane. The engine is most happy with a very close HS needle adjustment. Though the engine is quite tolerant of a little lean or rich without dead sticking, it will four stroke too much if slightly rich and will sag on vertical lines if slightly lean so it is most happy when the HS needle is nailed.
I'm not saying that it is hard to do, but for me it requires holding the plane vertical to check for sag. On a twin install, that might mean adjusting one engine, shutting it down and then the other and then restarting the first. Also, the HS needle has needed tweaking anew each flying session.
I do believe the engine is a good choice for twins because of its resistance to flame out with an imperfect mixture setting.

RE: New Evolution 10cc gas engine
Pete or Jimmy can correct me if i'm wrong ,but the BIS04046 PITTS MUFFLER fits the 10 cc .I have the pitts on the os 46fx and i checked it with a evo trainer 45 and looked to match..its the same part number..go to horizon hobby and look at the engine on sight and look at parts for it and there is section you click on after you get on parts page on the left side..i think it says extra parts or all parts ..check that out..i want to put one on mine also.....

I am sure as far as this engine goes, any of them are fine.
