Pete I'll send you an email, but I cannot get RPM to work for more than 90 seconds before it crashes telemetry.
What should I do?

well the new mufflers showed up today for the b-25. I still need to drill and tap a couple of pressure fitting's but they look good. I will mount the mufflers tonight and fire up the engines tomarrow. I will get some tach numbers also.

I got to fly mine tonight 30 minutes on a 11x5 then went to a 12x6 for 15 minutes it ran alot better with 12x6 I like this motor I'm ready to order another one

I have been in touch with the Product Manager for the Evo 10cc and he indicated that the bulk of the testing with the engine and RPM sensor were done using an AR8000. He was fairly certain that MY problem was due to an interface issue with the AR 6210x. HH is sending me a new Ignition box, but I do not believe that the fault is in the Ignition module. My gut feeling is that the TM1000 drops due to the interface between the Data/bind port and the RPM data. Further, I believe the culprit that causes the problem may be associated with the EVOA107 cable that processes the Tachometer output. Here's a short summary of the tests that I have done.
Discard EVOA cable go directly into TM1000 - causes ground loop voltage read outs bad. Ran for 3 to 4 minutes then dropped
Discard EVOA cable, cut red wire(actually used a short extension). Volt readings good but TM1000 dropped out after 4 or 5 minutes
Discard EVOA and Tachometer cable use "Y" off the Hall effect input. Good readings, for the longest time, about 7 minutes then dropped.
(this is why I do NOT think the problem is in the ignition module but some interface issue with the TM1k and the receiver)
I'm not sure what is causing the TM1000 to stop transmitting. Today I swapped out the 6210x receiver taking an AR8000 from another plane.
I will fire it up in another hour (its only 8:30AM EST) and see if the TM1000 will stay running with this ignition box. If not I will again test with the new Ignition module but using the AR8000.
Don't throw in the towel just yet, but keep testing, and forward the data to others using this thread, I'm sure the Guru's can figure out what is going on, they just need as much data as we can provide.

I have a 10gx which I have installed in my plane and am getting ready to run. I checked the carb needle settings and the idle needle seems to be limted in its adjustment range so it will not back out 5 3/8 turns as the manual says. It will only back out a total of 4 turns so it looks like it will not ever reach the 5 3/8 turns the manual states. I followed the manual procedure for checking this exactly as the manual is written.
So is there a carb problem on mine? Or should I turn it harder with my little screwdriver to see if it has a burr or something keeping from reaching 5 3/8 turns out?

I just started mine out at the factory settings and only had to adjust the HS needle a few clicks. So far, I have not needed to touch the LS needle. Idle and transition are great. RS

i know they reccomend the 12 x 6 prop for all around..but to me i used the 13 x 6 blade and it seems it finds a sweet spot when its turned up..i don't have telemtry read out on rpm,but i would guess its turning 11000 to 11500 range and seems to really like it..have you tried it.. Craig

I started with an 11x6 and ran 4 tanks (6 ox) then went to 12x6 which it swings at 12500 RPM in the air, when I can keep telemetry running for more than 90 seconds.
As for needles, I didn't touch the LS until I got it broken in and to get the HS right, I went with factory, then out a 1/4 turn. Ran like this throughout the break-in then went back in a 1/4 for final.
Hoping I can get telemetry fixed.

Rc I had the same problem so I took my cowl off my 580 eagle my high end adjust just wouldn't move very freely so in keeping full track of where I started I just moved the high adjust back an forth all the way in and all the way out to free up the needle and it works I wouldn't be surprised if the needle turns harder due to the heat up the engine creates but always be careful not to force anything I only used my fingers not pliers that's why I took my cowl off yes the 10 is just a little guy to much tork Can break it

yea i have stayed with factory settings pretty much..i have run enough to get off small props..they scream so much..right now my settings with 13 x 6 app. 2 to 1 7/8 on high side and low side i had to bring out a little 5 1/2 to 5 3/4.. 5 3/8 seemed to be lean on take off..other than that its been good..had tank problem which will be fixed before saturday..transition on this setting for mine is clean and crisp..

They say a picture is worth a thousand words so here goes.
As you may recall I installed the 10 GX engine in my 35 year old VK Cherokee. Took it to the field and got about 2 minutes of telemetry.
I found that most testing was done using an AR8000 I had a AR6210x initially. This morning I swapped in an AR8000 but still had Telemetry crash.
Tried numerous things, nothing worked. So I sat for an hour pondering what to do next. Guessing RFI to be the cause I broke out the Reynolds wrap
and also a Ferrite coil. This worked and here's the pictures I promised: First ferrite core RPM lead unplugged (sittting atop foam)
I also put a barrier between the ignition box and encapsulated the EVO107 lead:
Next plugged in and running 5 min timer started
Minute in
four minutes later
7 minutes, longer than I usually fly
It ran and Telemetry was solid for 12 minutes... here's the 9 min shot
OK,
Now the evidence is in, there's an RFI problem that kills your telemetry. My guess is that the same results will be seen with other receivers, and while it may be just this particular Ignition box, others can try a similar test and lets see if we can get a consensus.

well i took the katana up today for the first time..had a few issues but nothing major..i have a slight tank leak and don't know if it affected it but had to open low side more to get it to pull properly on take off.i do have a 1/2 '' muffler extension on it..that could affect the low side.but other than that it was pretty impressive...ended up with 13 x 6 on this 7 lb bird and it would go vertical....noticed when i got home my muffler had turned on the end..the guys at the field were impressed with it..hope to get the issues fixed and try it again..i'm a happy camper..

Does this engine have enough power to Hover your 7 pound Katana? Did you weight come out exactly at 7 pounds box stock with this engine on?

try it metal to metal mounted on the muffler and see how well that works..don't put anything on it,cause i used a little silicone in the middle section of the muffler and i think this caused it to loosen up and turn...

haven't really tried to hover,but i'm sure it will..it will go vertical.i would say its not a big 3d flyer with this engine,cause i'm not a real experienced 3d flyer...the combo goes good together cause the plane flies so well..if you have the katana to put it in,i would reccomend it..also you have to take into consideration too,im running 6 pitch blades,so if it will go vertical with 6,you know what it will do with lower pitch blades.

This motor is awesome when a highly regarded plane builder come to me an asks how I like new evo 10cc i was like wow hands down the most reliable motor out there I told him how my muffler was just hanging by a thread an it still got me back to land. Great job evo your setting the norm out there how motors should be
