I bought a referb BME 110 from Tom, got it all mounted up in my 75cc Aeroworks Extra 260 for some 3D. Well she would not start. No spark ! I found it to be the Hall Sensor pick up. I could hold the wire at just the right spot and had spark. It is Saturday so I left Tom a message but wanted to get this ready for Sunday !! So,, I cut it apart and found the red and white wires broken at the solder joint. No problem to fix, but a little miffed I got a worn and vibrated sensor that some one did not strain relief.

Got it ready to solder, cut the wires back and got heat shrink tubing ready and grabbed the sensor plate with vise grips to heat-sink the sensor before soldering to prevent heat damage to the component.

Got it soldered up and the heat-shrink set. The wires on the sensor are small so I did spread them out a little to make room for my "bigger the blob the better the job soldering" !

Some more heat-shrink and shaping and we are ready to mount it up. I did use some glue to stop any movement of the wire connections at the sensor. I think it is stronger than new!

mounted to the engine,, and I am happy to report it worked great and the engine started right up. Got it tuned and all back together and am ready for tomorrow. I think I would still like Tom at BME to send me a new one. It took me 2 hrs. from it not starting, to ready to fly today,, not what I had planned, but I got it done !!
Cheers
