Default Need help with EVRA engine

I purchased an EVRA 1.9 C.I. (31 number of years ago. Recently pulled it out of the box to use and it has no spark. The coil is apparently dead.

I have taken it down to the local weedeater repairer place and they can't cross reference the coil without a weedeater model number (the joy of computer data bases).

EVRA is no longer in business and I need help in obtaining a new coil. Can anyone help with info please?

Thanks much, now all I have to do is find a trashed Ryobi. I live in a town of 400 people so it may not be that easy[&o]

If it has all the parts that came in the box, try the pulley and rope that it used..An electric starter should turn if fast enough to get it going..It will NOT hand start with the coil it came with......They were sold by Hobby Lobby way back when quarter scale started...I suspect a coil from a G38 would work and would hand start..If it's never been run the carb might be OK, but a carb diaphragm kit is only about $5.00 and would be a good idea....

I have owned the EVRA 1.9. I had it in a Nuttin Special and the rear carb looked nice but was hard to get to. Because I didn't have a good choke, it was hard to start. I found for the weight and size, that it lacked power. I purchased the motor from Robert Eierman in CA. He is a real gentleman and may be able to give you tips and parts.
I dealt with Robert several years ago and don't know if he is still selling motors. He does know his stuff.
I'll see if I can find him and respond if I can.

I found Robert and would not hesitate to work with him. If he says a motor is excellent, you can bet it is. I have dealt with him more than once and highly recommed his business and expertise.
