Hi all,

We hereby have something to declare:

DLE has no branch or sub-contracted; DLE has no factory or official dealer in Hong Kong. Most of fake DLE engines are selling from on-line shops like eBay or Amazon, DLE company will not take any responsibility and provide service to fake DLE engines.

The fake engine manufacturer may build it even more similar to genuine DLE engine in future, so we strongly suggest to purchase engines from DLE authorized dealers or retail shops only. If you have a doubt for the engine you purchased, please do not hesitate to contact us.

Amazing. Thanks for the information. I am quite surprised that someone would go through the trouble to copy a DLE engine. It is amazing and surprising too.

So wouldn't the fake DLE be a clone of a clone of a Zenoah? I know they will clone almost anything, but clone a clone? That's a new one for me.

I thought the first DLE engines were copies of a DA engine. So it seems par for the course for the Chinese to copy the copy too. But it seems the issue might be more cloudy though. Some people have reported getting engines with a mix of parts that make them look like a partial copy or something. Plus they bought the engines from reputable dealers too. Then when I looked, does a carburetor with a DLE logo mean it is a fake. Does having a engine with shiny prop screws but everything else looking Ok mean it is fake? So it might be a rather muddy issue trying to determine if one has a authentic or fake engine. I would assume buying the engine from a reputable source would tend to ensure it is real and not a fake. A questionable seller can use real pics of engines and ship the fakes of course, so pics on a auction site or other internet store may not show what a buyer may really get.

Jeez, DLE cloned DA and Zenoah?
Who cloned who? Maybe my Mcullock chainsaw is a clone of a DA too?
The 2 stroke was invented in 1881, DA, Zenoah and DLE were a very long way after that.
Chain saws and outboards have used this technology for multiple decades, they are all so similar, how can anyone say one is a clone of another, unless you actually copy an item directly and use it's logo on your engine.
That's a copywrite infringement, something the Chinese are good at, ha ha the pot calling the kettle black, looks like the Chinese ethics came back to bite them in the butt.

DLE,DLA,SE,there all the same.but that's not really true, the DLE has a open port cylinder design,it has less support for the piston. but the DLA,SE still use the old style straight plug cylinder that has closed ports and more support for the piston.
I just look at the two DLE55's I have they are both the real McCoy ,at lease the cylinders are.one I bought from AeroBeeze, the other was a combo deal from OMP.

So DLE it is ok for you to steal a design, rename the engine you stole the design from and now wish to complain that someone else has sten your stolen design?
Man that ranks high on my list of all time lows.
Don't know if it's so much a case of complaining, as a disclaimer of liability and service. As a plumber, I don't like to be responsible for someone else's . . . . .!

Desert Aircraft (DA) were a big 3W distributor for years until they came out with their own engine.

I think this is called Karma, DLE basically stole the design of its engines from DA and sold them to the us market. Only marginal at first they finally got a decent product (not to say that I would own one). Now years later after they have become a real name in the RC community somone has theatend their business by copying their copy, imagine their suprise. Who would do such a thing? Well I say good for them, I hope they have a wonderful time dealing with the outcome. Desert Aircraft may have came out with their own engines after dealing for 3W for a long time, but it was not a copy, it was a brand new design all its own. I understand that DLE isnt the first company to do such a thing but they have been the most successful which puts them in the crosshairs of the consumer and the competion. As a business owner myself I have a real problem with theft of ideas, patents, product design, you name it just torques my Jaw.
