Just putting out there my experience with the evolution GX33.
The engine runs great,Starts very easy and its easy to tune.I run mine on Honda HP2 synthetic oil at 32 to 1
The only draw back I see with it is that it doesn't have a lot of power. It spins a APC 18x8 at 8000rpm or a carbon fiber mejzlik 18x8 at 7600.It really can't pull a bigger prop without starting to over heat.I tried a 18x8 carbon Hover prop on it wich has a much wider blade and she was doing 7000 rpm but started to get really hot and would shut off no matter how I tuned it.I wish I could have run the Hover prop cuz she had a lot of thrust.
The EVO uses 2 head gaskets I took one out and with the mejzlik prop she gained 350 rpm and no over heating problems.
I always use 93 octane with it.
The EVO is more like the Syssa 30 it likes smaller props and higher rpm.
Other than that its a good reliable engine.
Easy front carb throttle hook up like a 2 stroke glow engine.I tune it with a long blade screwdriver with a piece of glow fuel tubing on the end of the screwdriver cuz of a little vibe and being so close to the prop.
Also vibration is very low with this engine way less than what I get from my dle 30.
Also with the 2nd head gasket out it has a tad more vib than the stock EVO,still less than my dle though.
Well hope this helps and fuel consumption is about 1 oz a min at wide open throttle.
12 oz tank gets me about 15 min with my style of flying.
