Default prop cutter

I have finished my prop cutter and it works really well .Does anyone know of a wood source .Ive experimented as per normal but I now need a source to buy from and also the type of wood to use 'look for,etc thank you all for the great sources on this web site

Beach is the favored type of wood and the face of the grain should be to the front like holding a baseball bat with the label up.

They used to use maple for the wood propellers. Beech is good but a little more soft than maple is. I don't see as many companies using maple for the props anymore though.

Probably harder to source Maple. I always thought Maple was more resistant to crush damage in the hub.

In small quantities, any home supply place such as Menards, Home Depot, etc. will have Maple. You can also go to any of the hardwood supply houses that supply raw wood supplies to homebuilders. Any good sized city will have one, even some regular lumber yards have hardwoods or can get them. There are also many online sources under hardwoods.

Years ago, when TopFlite maple props were popular, Sid Axelrod sourced some maple from old flooring from torn down buildings. It was well seasoned and stable.
