Default 30cc dle not getting fuel

recently purchased a 71" aj slick with a 30cc dle in it.
I seen it fly many times but it hasn't flown in about 2 months
after starting it seemed to run fine but I picked it up off the table to put on the ground with the nose tilted downward then it died out
it continued to do this and has not been corrected yet

ANY IDEAS...IM STILL A NEWB...LOL

Start it and let it run thru for about 10-15 mins. think the Diaphram is weak, Went thru about the same situation yesterday with one of my chainsaws.....ran like crap for about 10 mins after sitting for about 3 months then got "well".
Worth a try!

Is this the early production side carb 30 or the newer rear intake version? The original side carb version had a tendency to die at idle when moved certain directions.

side carb...from what I been told as well as what GIZMO says..seems to be the diaphragm
the pervious owner hadn't replaced in awhile and was only flown in warmer weather

The early side carb engine had problems with fuel pooling in the intake tract between the carb and the reeds. After a period of idle, tipping or turning the plane / engine could cause those pooled drops of fuel to flood the engine causing it to die. Some people ran these engines with good results, other owners, not so great results. DLE's fix for the problem was the redesign to the rear intake version that is currently still available.

Certainly the carb may need rebuilding which could greatly contribute to the problem.

If it ran well before, try running it like I suggested. May correct it's self? Might be a little lean on the low side?

+1, many times when the diaphragms get wet with fuel after being dry for awhile they work quite well. Sounds like the engine is new to the OP though so he may not know its quirks even though he has seen it fly before.
