Default DLE55 ring source

Hey everyone- I am probably way behind the ball, I just found out Mr Frank Bowman retired last year, and no longer supplies piston rings - any suggestions where to go for better quality rings and parts for the DLE55- I understand the stock rings are crap- Any help? Thanks Dennis in Anchorage

The current DLE rings work quite well. You can get parts from Tower, Valley View RC and many other sources including local hobby dealers.

Did Frank Bowman ever turn his assets or knowledge over to someone to continue his valuable service? Dan.

Not yet. He has plans to sell his ring business, but when and who remains to be seen.

I talked to Frank and yelled at him for re-tiring on us......

No, I did talk to him, and wished him the best. He is presently looking for someone to carry on the good name, quality, and service. I surely hope he finds someone, and soon. I got caught "with my pants down", and have numerous engines set aside for future projects that were going to use his rings. Meanwhile, check out "Caber" rings to source hard to find rings, or rings of better quality than stock. Thanks to W8YE for turning me on to them!
