Default 3W 6V ignition

Can anyone tell me if I can use a 6.6v life with no regulator on a 3W ignition that says 6v on a red dot
Thanks!

Sorry, I'm not familiar with life series batteries; however, I have been running a 5-cell NiMh pack (~6v nominal...6.5v peak) on my 6v 3W ignition system for several years without any issues. Hope you're able to find someone out there better able to address you're question. In the meantime...

I did have the sensor magnets on my 3W-75US slowly give up the ghost. During the period before failing completely, they gave me fits! Changes in idle speed, hard starting, quit on landing, etc.. I replaced both the magnets in the hub myself (with instructions from Acft Intl) and all has been well ever since.
