Default Ignition module hook-up

I am new to the electronic ignition field, and have a question. In the small airplane I have put my 15cc engine into, I cannot arrange the module so that both the high-tension lead and the timing lead will reach the engine. Can I just make up an extension for the timing lead? Or will that interfere with the signal?
Thanks for any help.

If nobody responds who has done this, you could test it out and let us all know your results.

I haven't done it, but I don't see where it would be a problem.

I solder in an extension to the pick up lead all the time with no problems at all. It does not effect performance . Dan.

I have used a short extension on one installation with no problems.
