Default Looking for Wankel-type rotary engine

Hi,
First post, so thanks for letting me in the club!
I've heard there was a small rotary engine, possibly made by OS, that were used in RC planes. I'd like to find one or two, preferably running. Can anyone help point me in the right direction? I believe these have long been out of production.

I did try to find one in the classifieds, but those pages were all blank and I suspect the newbies don't have access to the god stuff.

Thanks!

It was an OS Max .30 size and was also sold by Graupner.

I think these were in the Tower catalog up until the last few years. There is probably a hobby shop out there with one they would like to sell. I do see parts still available on the Tower website

i have one that is over 40 years old. One of my retirement projects is to put it on a plane. It ran great on a Sig Cub way back. I sort of remember it sounded like a sewing machine running.

Since they were sold over so many years I am sure you will find a few. Let us know

Regards

I have a buddy who has 2 OS Wankel engines in very good condition that he wants to sell for $250 each. He doesn't get on the internet much. But if you're interested, PM me and I'll get you his phone number so you can work out a deal with him.

By the way, I'm pretty sure these are glow, not gas. Just mentioning that because the OP put this thread in the gas forum.

250 is in the range you find them, depending of course on condition.

They show up on E-Bay fairly regular. Prices there vary but for one in good condition, you're going to pay a few C notes.

And yes, they are glow engines.
