Default RCGF customer support

I bought a new rcgf 10cc. It started and ran for a few minutes and then shut off, and wouldn't start again. I took the head off and found lots of tiny metal shavings in the cylinder and on the spark plug. I left several phone messages and emails at the customer support sites asking for suggestions, but not a word from them. I can't recommend rcgf to our club members if they don't have customer support. Anyone else have this issue?

I'd like to know where you bought it, and who you've contacted for customer service. If they are not the same, that may be your issue.

I bought it from the rcgf hobby shop website. That's who I called and emailed.

Pardon my ignorance, but could you be more specific? I'm not familiar with any RCGF hobby shops. Maybe a link or a specific web site?

It's the rcgf usa web site. I guess I'm not allowed to post URLs until I have at least 10 posts here.

There's currently a shake up going on regarding just who is the REAL US RCGF distributor. I've been flying RCGF long enough (forever) to have met both, and consider them both to be on top of their games. I will say though that Joe at RCGF USA can be tough to get in touch with. The other, and the one that's supposed to be taking over for RCGF, is ValleyView RC. Tom has been at this forever, was instrumental in evolving the earliest small Chinese gas engine imports, is still instrumental in RCGF engine development, and has an awesome reputation when it comes to customer support.

You might try getting in touch with ValleyView (easily reached by phone) and explain what you have going on to see if they can help. -Al

ahicks,
Thank you for the information. I will try ValleyView. I had no idea there was a shake up at rcgf usa, I hope they get it resolved before they lose customers. I have heard good things about them in the past.

I talked to Joe at rcgf usa. He was at a trade show last week. As I understand it, he owns the rights to the rcgf name. Rcgf usa and ValleyView both sell the engines.

That's kinda what I meant when I said "shake up". They're both claiming ownership. I'm not getting into it beyond that, have no ill will for either.

Latest news on this:
ValleyView will continues sales of "original" RCGF engines
RCGFISA is introduced a new "Stinger" line of engines

Both suppliers will co-exist, however... there is some legal issues over the RCGF Brand in the US and who is the legal owner of said brand in the US...
Geto some popcorn....

REgards,
Patrick
