Default Where did Zenoah Engines go???.(USA)

So what happened to Zanoah Engines? Jumping back to gas as I'm starting a Ziroli SBD build.

Horizon hobby has no clue what happened to the Zanoah deal they had...as they are no longer being sold by them.

So looking for a new Gt80, some in the 🇺🇸..have they been bought out? Changed their name?

Try a Google Search, rather then RCU. That is all I did for the answer. It does say Hobbico, rather then Horizon. But all that Hobbico has is a few parts.

Right.. Google results shows no one in the USA sells them gt80 anymore. New, that is.. Wondering if anyone in RCU has a the story behind Zanoah the company and their rc airplane selection availability in the USA.

I seriously doubt that Horizon was still selling many Zenoah engines. While there is no doubt of the quality of the Zenoah line, they were all dated, heavy and not the most powerful engines around. Few ARF planes are designed around this type of engine these days and we have to face facts. If they were still a profitable line, I doubt that Horizon would have dropped them.

I had two of the Zenoah twins and sold them a few years ago. I repowered the airplanes they were in with newer, lighter, more powerful engines and haven't looked back. I still see these engines sold used and even NIB on a regular basis in the various classifieds. There is no shortage of selection if you look around a bit and are patient. I'm sure a wanted ad would produce a number of responses.

To credit the GT-80 where due though, I never had an engine that ran as smooth as the 80 twin. But its replacement turns a 2" larger, higher pitch prop and it is well over 2 pounds lighter.

I buy jet engines and other rc related items from Europe all of the time. And, ship the engines back over there for repair. Because as you know, we make so many rc items here in the USA. So, it's how bad do you want the product and willing to belly up to the bar and pay the bill. Buy a DA, since they are made here in the USA or get over it.

Default Zenoah GT 80

Have a used GT80 that came off of a plane I sold. Comes with muffler, prop washer and spring starter. Plugs looked good upon inspection, compression feels strong but never saw it run. No signs of crash damage. These are solid and smooth running engines.
$500 plus shipping buys it.
Can send photos to any interested buyer.
Thanks
