Good day everyone
I have an old Byron Glasair on a Quadra 35 engine that I'd love to finally get running but I'm having trouble finding a new ignition coil for it.
I've tried B and B a few times and they are out of the coils for good it seems.
This is my first gas RC engine so I'm trying to go as plug-n-play as possible or close to original as it is cheaper and a bit more convenient/less confusing.
While I do recognize that an electronic ignition is an option, it would likely require me to remove the magneto, changing the length of the shaft and sending me on the hunt for more parts. But if anyone has done this conversion and has a build list, that would still be appreciated.

My first thought is:
Why a replacement, known bad by what means?
2nd Why a coil you can not find. Any similar coil that you can find and mount should be fine ( think custom bracket ). Amazon must have a thousand coils you could make work.
Yes drop in replacement is easy peasy, but, maken it work is good enough for me.
Quadra engines (Dick Bennett very knowledgeable):

Ron Shettler was developer and manufacturer of Quadra engine
Jim Messer was first Quadra dealer
