Hey guys,
I'm looking for my first large gasser. It happens to be in the 150cc range. I've read all the specs and they all look fairly similar on paper. I'm looking for which you would perfer and why. Any other recommendations, let me know.
Thanks,
Neogenesis

3W QS 150, by far the smoothest and most powerful. Yes DA has excellent customer service, when you can get though. I have had numerous dealings with Bobby at Cactus, and Gerhard at AI, and nothing but top notch service. Either motor is great. Why not be the different person and get the ZDZ?

I voted DA. I have owned a 3W-100 and it ran flawlessly. I currently own 3 DA-150's, and they run flawlessly. I have never run into anyone that had anything bad to say about DA, but have run into quite a few that were less than impressed with 3W for a number of reasons. So, I went wtih DA, and so far have been very happy. Of the few times I needed to deal with DA service (crash or damage related), the turnaround was quick, and in some cases DA didn't charge me for parts/labor even though it was not warranty or a manufacturing related issue, but clearly an abuse issue.

I own both the DA and 3W 150's. . . anyone want to buy my DA150 with canister setup??? It's for sale, and my re-engineered 3W150 sits in a plane. . .and you KNOW how I feel about 3W's. . .

Hey,
It all depends on what you are looking for. Smooth throttle transition, reliable operation, and good service. I vote for DA. Someone had a good post with the relative strengths of each different motor. Good stuff, went into detail like port location - turns out I'm a DA man I guess, but it all depends on what you are looking for.

What do 98% of the TOC guys fly and why??
I have several examples of each engine. I really don't think it makes much difference one way or the other. I have had problems with both over time. It's not a factor for me.
