Default Source for cylinders?

I am looking for a source where I can purchase either Husqvarna, Echo, Stihl or similar cylinders for use on a twin cylinder engine I plan to build. I have sources for all other parts but am running into a brick wall trying to find cylinders and pistons. There has to be a source out there I just need to find it. Any help would be appreciated. Feel free to e-mail me direct at [email protected]

Any chainsaw dealer sells cylinders..Be prepared to pay $150 to $200 for a cylinder/piston assembly....

over here husky and jonsered are handled by the same importer that refuses to give any info on part numbers or specs and then try to rob you blind if you do figure out what part you need.

stihl is even worse and demands that you bring the tool in for "factory" service.

echo on the other hand will accommadate all my requests in the friendliest manner and get all my bussiness whether it be saws or plane engines.

hope it's better over in the states.

BME - Keith Baker of BME was nice enough to sell me and a friend parts to build a pair of 61cc twins. Got the Echo crankcases, pistons/cylinders and prop adaptor from him. Had to get the crank from a dead chainsaw. we had to wait quite a while and it took a few phone calls to make it happen, and this was well over a year ago before they got really busy! I really appreciated this as he did give us a sweet deal, but he likely wouldn't do this again. My understanding from what I've read right here is they're very busy trying to keep up with things - you never know though, doesn't hurt to ask and see if he'll do it again... Here's a pix of the 61cc twin I assembled from parts. Just waiting for mufflers, due in soon.

when I was in the small motor business you could buy jobber piston, cyl assys. for about half the price of OEM. Every bit as good quality. Try some chain saw shops to see if someone will accomodate you.
