A few weeks ago I asked for info on my 4.2. I asked, what RPM's should I look for swinging a Mejlik 24x10. I got one reply stating I should look for 6800 to 7200 RPM's. WELL I started the 4.2 today I bought it used I'm not sure if it is broken in. It started easily and after some needle adjustments I was only able to get 6540 RPM's. At this RPM the engine sounded like a monster like it wanted to rip itself off the firewall, the prop tip speed was ripping. I was holding this weeks solution by the stab, the pull was incredible, I cannot imagine this engine turning 6800 let alone 7200. Any reply on this would be appreciated

Depends a lot on the prop, muffler, tach, atmospheric conditions, altitude..There is no "normal " rpm ..Most of the 100 cc engines (3W, Sachs, Quadra, BME, Mc Culloch 103 Go Kart) I test at 7000 feet with a 24-10 Glasner turn from 6600 to 7100 rpm...7200 with a 4.2 would be exceptional....

Good Day Gents,
I have a Brison 4.2 that is new and I get 6400 on a Menz ultra 24x10 and 7000 on a Bolly 24 x 10, I have yet to try it on a good muffler, This is on the cheezy one that comes with it.
Hope this helps
