Default Prop for G-38 ?

I was just wondering if anyone had some advise as to witch prop i should use on my Zenoah G-38. The engine is going into a H9 1:20 size Cap 232, and I'd like to put on the best prop for this aplication

Best place to start is a 18-10.

Agreed, 18x8 or 18x10 are the props for that engine.

I like the 3W 18x8. My G-38 is turning it at 7800-8000!

are you just standard field flying, or venturing into 3d? if 3d is your path, you need to come down on pitch, and increase diameter, if it is standard flying, then the 18x10 will indeed do the job

I did try a 20x6 on mine once. It had a lot of thrust for hanging, but it was so slow in the air I didn't like it.

An 18 x 6-10 also works well. Zinger and Top Flite both make that size.

I have alway used the Zinger 18 x 6-10 and been very happy with the results.

I have been running a 20X8 APC on my G-38 for the whole summer and it runs like a spotted monkey. I tach'ed it at 7800 to 8000 regularly. Last time I dorked it into the ground I broke the prop and the only thing I have to run on it now is an 18X10 APC.

I agree with carson,, I used to use a 18 6/10 on my g38 in a Byrons cap21, also used a 17 6/10 by cutting the 18 inch down. runs a lot smoother if you cut off both tips and not just one..... lol
