A Pitts style would look good, but usually a bit heavier than a stock side mount. If the little bit of weight doesn't mean much to you go for the Pitts. If DA has one to offer get it from them.

I can tell you, the DA-50 is going to be PLENTY of power for that plane. Mine has a BME-50 and it is unlimited.

I ordered the pitts style with mine. They have 4 muffler styles that they sent pictures of when I ordered mine. The normal one is 69 and the can is on the side with one tube down, the pitts goes behind the head and has 2 tubes going out and is 99 without smoke or 129 with smoke. I think Slimline makes that one. The MTW tuned is 150 and is drops down 2 inches and goes back about 20 inches. Looks like a pain to mount. The DSS baffled pipe is 37 inches long and looks as hard to mount and is $199.

The pitts looks like the best choice out of all the mufflers they offer. I went with the smoke one. Looks good.

FLYBOY:

Do you have any idea what that Pitts smoker weighs. I am still tossing around engine choices for a Wild Hare edge and am trying to get weights of all combos.

298 Grams or 1.5 OZ.

I have a sheet that shows them, but the copy is really bad. I will try to scan it and put it up.

THE BCM pitts has more chamber volume than the Slimline pitts so should be quieter.

Geist,
Do you have an actual weight on the BCM.

By the way my WH Edge arrived yesterday, looks good. Tight wing tube but I can handle that. Easier than the patty.
