I went to start my 3w 50 today with no luck. Checked the spark plug and can't seem to get any spark out of it. Could it be the plug or is somethin wrong with the ignition. I checked the battery on that and its good, I can hear the ignition when its on.

3W ignitions are grounded through the cap and shield..If the cap is on the plug the ground is good....Ignitions usually don't make any noise, unless the spark is going somewhere it shouldn't.....Mine makes a high frequency noise from the toroid coil, but you have to be really close to hear it..the 3w ignition is inside a box and is potted, so any noise would be muffled...
Some of the early 3w caps had leaky inslulation, so the spark got detoured inside the cap...Could be....

I think it might be the cap... somehow it got a little messed up. the metal casing came apart and the spring seems a bit messed up. I tryed fixing it up and looks to be in working condition to me but i guess not. Can the cap be replaced? Also, do you know where i could get a new plug for this engine?
Thanks
