This is my problem. I just acquired a MW Extra with a G45 engine. The only experience that I have is with Brison engines. Those you prime, then start! Always by the 4th flip.
With the G45 I have tried starting it by choking then starting at compression. I have tried to have the hub magnets 90% from the magneto then flip. (VERY Difficult to do).
How do you start this thing. A guy at my club had one had said that he has always used the spring that you can buy on his. I don't want the extra weight but I don't want to spend my day at the field trying to start my engine either.
Any help from Zenoah owners would be very helpful!!!
Thanks
Miles

Nice combo there. I've this combo to.
Just make sure you mount the prop in line with the marks on the prop hub of the engine.
Prime it until it smells then swing 3 times and there you go.

I'm not sure that my experience with the G45 helps your case, since I always use a starter to fire up the engine. I do know that the engine needs to be "wet" after priming for easy starting.
I set the prop at the 3-9 position with the engine at the start of compression and hit it with the starter. Fires up immediately every time.
I love my Miller R/C Persuader (belt reduction) starter. Best investment I ever made.
