Guys,
I am interested in purchasing a tuned pipe system for my DA50. I am building thinking of building a FF for the DA50, hence a tuned exhaust system should be benificial.
I'd like to know,
1. How much more prop can I swing with the tuned system? What RPM can I expect?
2. Will the throttle response be 'better' or more linear with the tuned system?
3. Overall benifits?
4. Which is the BEST system $$$ can buy?
Thanks in advance.
Regards
PS : This is my first gasser.

You also could get a hold of Chris Hinson at Extreme Flight as they have the DA 50 set up on a tuned pipe in there 87" Yak.

I have a tuned pipe system on my AW extra 300 & I love it ,never go back to stock mufflers again if I can help it. Mine is MTW header & RE2 pipe. The only difficulty I had was balancing the aircraft also keep in mind tuned pipe set up will add 10 oz to your aircraft compared to the stock muffler.

Joe, I weigh both the header & pipe 7 oz each total 14 oz ,CF pipe 4 oz + 7 oz header =11,savings of 5 oz . Not a big deal on a 18 lbs + aircraft even though I am very weight conscious. What I did not like about the CF pipe is that is very temperature sensitive.By the way I installed a velocity stack as you suggested in previous post everything is bone dry.Keep up the good information.Almost 8000rpm on dle 55 , Vess 22-B just switched to synthetic .
